Sacha Minderhout serves as Marketing Chair of the SAIS Global Women in Leadership European Chapter during the 2016-2017 academic year. She is a second-year MAIA student currently writing her thesis on the interaction between migration and liberal democracies.
During her undergraduate studies, she co-founded the Heart to Handle foundation. This foundation empowers entrepreneurial students by providing them with a platform to develop their own project in order to raise awareness and accumulate acquisition for charity while exposing them to a professional environment. The Heart to Handle foundation supports the cooperation and understanding between male and female students and wields an equal division among its board positions.
Prior to SAIS, Sacha worked at the International Center for Transitional Justice, the Economic Board Utrecht, the Technopolicy Network, and as a volunteer at Hague Talks promoting the dialogue on peace and justice. Sacha graduated from the University of Groningen in International Relations and International Organizations, completed a minor in Human Rights in Modern Society at the University of Amsterdam, and graduated from the University of Leiden with an MA in International Studies. During her studies in Leiden, she wrote her thesis on the challenges of balancing peace and justice in achieving reconciliation concerning the process of transitional justice. She is pursuing a career in Public Affairs.
