Jake is the Treasurer for SAIS Global Women in Leadership. He is passionate about amplifying women’s voices, advocating for a modern workplace, and fighting for gender parity on international affairs panels. As a student, Jake is concentrating is Strategic Studies with a minor in American Foreign Policy. This past summer, Jake interned with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where he covered the Middle East and Europe portfolios. This fall, he is interning at the Southern Europe office at the U.S. Department of State. Jake is also an Alumni Coordinator for the Strategic Studies program.
Prior to SAIS, Jake lived in Amman, Jordan where he studied Arabic, worked on public diplomacy programs for the U.S. Embassy, and ate mounds of mutabbal. Jake has also worked for the Meridian International Center, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and President Obama’s 2012 reelect. As a DC local and avid sports fan, Jake enjoys spending his summers at the Navy Yard and winters in Chinatown. If he could, he would summer in Istanbul, eat Chipotle every day, and join President Obama’s regular hoops game. Jake is a 2011 graduate of Haverford College, where he received a BA in Religion and played baseball.
