Jahanara Saeed serves as Conference Chair of SAIS Global Women in Leadership and previously served as a member of the conference programming committee in 2016. She is a second-year international student from Pakistan concentrating in South Asia studies. During her first year she worked as a student assistant at the Admissions Office in addition to holding a position with the Foreign Policy Institute in the fall.
Prior to joining SAIS, she was a research associate at the Society for the Advancement of Education (SAHE) based in Lahore, Pakistan. She has previous work and internship experience with the Alliance for Justice, Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan, and Kashf Foundation. She spent the summer between her first and second year interning at Inclusive Security, a DC-based nonprofit that works to ensure all stakeholders, particularly women, are involved in preventing, resolving, and rebuilding after conflict.
Jahanara graduated cum laude from Smith College with a B.A. in Economics and spent a year abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
