Biography

Gillian Evans serves as President of SAIS Global Women in Leadership and was formerly GWL’s Executive Vice President during the 2015-2016 academic year. She is a second-year MA student from Boston concentrating in Strategic Studies, with a focus on U.S. national security challenges originating from the Middle East and South Asia. Gillian works for the Afghanistan Strategy & Policy team at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and she is Ambassador Edelman’s research assistant at SAIS’s Merrill Center for Strategic Studies. After SAIS, she will join the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) as an Analyst.

Prior to SAIS, Gillian worked at PA Consulting Group’s Federal and Defense Strategy practice, and in Pakistan as a fellow at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Gillian graduated from Georgetown University’s undergraduate School of Foreign Service magna cum laude with a degree in International Politics.
